Start 2022 Off with a Smile

It’s the New Year and you’re probably looking for a way to start it off with a smile. One of the best ways to do that is by going in for a consultation at your local dentist office! Cosmetic dental treatments are becoming more popular, and there are many different types available. In this blog post, we will talk about some of these treatments and what they can do to help improve your quality of smile in 2022!

Teeth Whitening:

One of the most popular treatments, teeth whitening can help remove years of built-up stains from your teeth. It is a quick and easy treatment that can be done in the office or at home with over-the-counter kits. During a whitening treatment, a bleaching agent is applied to your teeth and left on for a set amount of time. This agent works to break down the stain molecules and remove them from your tooth surface. When you have your teeth whitened by a dentist, you can expect them to be about 5-10 shades lighter after your appointment. At-home whitening trays, on the other hand, take longer since the bleaching agent is weaker. Nevertheless, whitening your teeth is a great way to easily improve your smile.

Veneers:

Veneers are another extremely popular cosmetic dental treatment. Veneers are thin shells of porcelain or composite that are bonded to the front of your teeth, and can improve both the color and shape of your smile. Additionally, veneers can address unevenly sized teeth, gaps between the teeth, broken teeth, and even overlapping teeth. You can use veneers to restore a single tooth or your entire smile. Whatever you choose, veneers are an effective way to improve your smile.

Dental Implants:

If you are missing one or more teeth, dental implants may be a good solution for you. Dental implants are designed to replace the root of a tooth, and also act as an anchor for replacement teeth. Once implanted in your jawbone, you can attach permanent or removable dental prosthetics (like dentures) onto them. Implants themselves are made up of titanium which is biocompatible with human bone tissue. Due to this compatibility, implants have a high success rate and are often the preferred option for tooth replacement.

Composite Fillings:

Composite fillings, also known as white or tooth-colored fillings, are another popular treatment for repairing teeth. Made from dental-grade plastic and glass particles, composite fillings can be used to repair small cavities, chips, and cracks. The material acts as a substitute for your tooth’s natural surface, which means it works to restore the shape of your smile while matching its color. If you have chipped or broken teeth that need repairing, composite fillings are a great option! Not only that, but having composite fillings placed can allow you to start 2022 cavity-free!
